For some reason I bought this whole stack of CDs. I don’t know why; they...

Grilled chicken with my experimental seasoning with zucchini, baked potato and homemade chocolate and peanut butter pie for supper…
And a decent lightning storm for evening entertainment.
Tomorrow, Alabama for a family reunion.
Ohhhhhhh is it worth it to get in from Nashville...
Decisions, decisions…

{savannah getaway}
Since my three best friends and I live so far apart and have such varied schedules, we try to take a trip together each year. Between getting married and working, Kendall wasn’t able to go this year, but Amy, Emily and I took a weekend trip to Savannah, Ga. My typical vacation doesn’t usually involve deserted ghost town gas stations, psychics, four-star hotels, cemeteries, multiple...

Oh family
Laura: I smell feet.
Anonymous *cough father-in-law cough* person: I put my shoes back on because I smelled them, too.

Link: Goodson credits parents for shaping his life →
This is a story I wrote on Clarence Goodson, a defender on the U.S. World Cup team, for a Christian sports website. Check it out if you get a chance.
No cars in our garage
No, instead, we have project central.
I need to do some photo shoots. Anybody need one?...

Nope, I’m not Tim James. I’m a Grammar Nazi.
The grammar usage on facebook makes me cringe quite often, and today was no exception. Today, I saw someone use the word “were.” You know, the plural past tense of the word “be.” This guy used it meaning “where” and “wear” in back-to-back sentences. Sheesh.
Today’s grammar rant is...

Pizza Night
I think it’s probably time I tell you a secret.
I want to be a foodie. I want to be the person that uses all-natural ingredients and makes tasty, different and from-scratch recipes on a nightly basis.
But the sad truth is that I still have the tastebuds of a 12-year-old. My typical meal repertoire is chicken and rice, tacos, Easy Mac (that’s right, not even the kind from a box) and...

British Petroleum Boycott
Since April 20, and especially over the last few weeks as the drama from the oil spill has escalated, I have heard several people talking about boycotting BP. I haven’t bought BP gasoline since the oil spill, either. With that, I’ve also heard several people pointing out that boycotting BP hurts small business owners more than BP itself. This, too, is true.
The unfortunate truth is...

When we reduce Christian spirituality to math, we defile the Holy.
– Donald Miller’s Blue Like Jazz
I need to remember this. I have a tendency to try to make Christianity make physical sense.

National Doughnut Day
We used National Doughnut Day as an excuse to eat lots of doughnuts.
After some mediocre barbecue at One and Only, we went to Krispy Kreme for some tastebud redemption. To no avail. We walked in, and the guy behind the counter said, “We ain’t got nuttin but cold glaaaaze. I hope that’s not a prob’lm.” It was.
Fortunately, thanks to Twitter and Alys, we...

Eat Mor Chickn
Well, this should sum up what Jonathan and I thought about Chick-Fil-A’s new Spicy Chicken Sandwich (that we got for free!).
But Chick-Fil-A isn’t completely satisfying until:

Music Nostalgia
Last night, Jonathan and I watched the Foo Fighters on Austin City Limits. I didn’t feel good, and all I wanted to do was take a nap. But I couldn’t. Every song that came on, I thought to myself what a great song it was, and I had to tap my fingers along with it. It was compulsive; I couldn’t help it. It’s hard to fall asleep while you’re tapping your fingers,...
